Baby Steps

I read this article the other day about a woman, who was a rape victim, being given 100 lashes for getting pregnant by the rapist while the rapist was exonerated of all charges. It was an extreme case of course, but it reminded me of just how far women STILL have to go in terms of equality. Around the world she is fighting for her voice and in the shadows for her very life. It is a sad testimony to the progress of humanity that half of its children must look through battered and bruised eyes into a world which tends to forget them, but cannot realistically move forward without them
